Obstacle Rules

**Elites refers to Black Watch Competitive heat and King Arthur Challenge Participants**

  1. Siege Wall - Must climb up and over the 8’ wall. **Elites may not receive any assistance over the wall and may not use side framing to climb over.

  2. The Tartan – Must climb up and over the A-frame cargo net.

  3. King of the Mountain – Must climb the concrete tubes, with ropes to assist if needed, NO use of sides will be permitted. **Elites may not receive any assistance over the tubes.

  4. Wrecked – Must carry Wreck Bags (sand bags) from the start of the marked trail to the finish of the marked trail. NOONE will be permitted to continue to carry the Wreck Bags through the remainder of the course. **Elites will not be permitted to set the bag on the ground, nor receive any assistance in the carry.

  5. Long Bow – All shooters get one shot. You must hit any portion of the target, then retrieve your arrow and place back at the shooting area. Missing your shot will require you to complete a penalty 20 push-ups, and must count out loud. **Elites may attempt this obstacle as many times as needed, but must complete their penalty PUSHUPS after each miss.

  6. The Queen’s Crown – Must climb up and over with no assistance. **Elites may not receive any assistance on this obstacle.

  7. Loch Ness – Climb the ladder portion to the top of the obstacle, slide down the waterslide, swim to the beach, then run back to the start of the obstacle following the course markers. Life Jackets will be available for all participants and are mandatory.

  8.  Tired Mule – Carry the wooden Yoke with tires on each end through the obstacle marked track, return the yoke to the start. **Elites may not receive any assistance in carrying the yoke and may not set the yoke down.

  9. Battle Beams – Walk across the balance beams over water. **Elites must restart if they fall from the beam.

  10. Barricades – Climb over the first wall, crawl under the second wall, climb through the third wall. **Elites may not receive any assistance on this obstacle.

  11. Dragon’s Tail – Scale the horizontal wall using ONLY the hand and foot holds. Using the top of the obstacle to hang on is not permitted.  **Elites may not receive any assistance on this obstacle.

  12. Chain Mail – Crawl or roll under the barbed wire. **Elites may not leave the barb wire crawl once they enter.

  13. Village Walls – Climb over the six walls located on the dirt bike course. **Elites may not use obstacle supports to climb over or receive any assistance on this obstacle.

  14. The Hangman – Monkey bar traverse ** Elites may not receive any assistance on this obstacle.

  15. Caber Carry – Carry the caber (log) to the far side of the obstacle and back. **Elites must carry the caber with both hands under the base of the caber (the circle part).  The caber may rest against the body no more than at a 45 degree angle. Horizontal carries are not permitted.

  16. Stones – Carry the atlas stone from one end of the obstacle to the other. **Elites may not receive any assistance on this obstacle including picking the stone up from the ground.

  17. The Gauntlet – Climb through this rig with your hands/arms only, ring the bell at the end. **Elites may not receive any assistance on this obstacle.

  18. Scale the Wall – Climb up the rock climbing wall using rock climbing holds and cross boards. MUST MAINTAIN THREE POINTS OF CONTACT ON THE WALL AT ALL TIMES. **Elites may not receive any assistance on this obstacle.

  19. Rapunzel – Climb up the rope wall to the top and over. MUST MAINTAIN THREE POINTS OF CONTACT AT ALL TIMES. **Elites may receive no assistance on this obstacle.

  20. Tangled Beard – Run through the bungie cord cave.

  21. Drawbridge – Pull yourself up the inverted wall and carefully slide down the backside run to the finish. **Elites may receive no assistance on this obstacle and may not use the obstacle supports.

  22. Warrior Buckets – Must carry the buckets through the obstacle track and back to the start.  Buckets may NOT be carried on the shoulder. **Elites may not set the bucket down once started.

  23. Scotty’s Hammer – Drag your hammer from one end of the obstacle and back.

  24. The Pipes – Traverse the first set of parallel bars with your hands and upper body over the pipes. Traverse the second section by hanging from the pipes, ring the bell. **Elites may not receive any assistance on this obstacle.

  25. Scottish Shotput – Throw your stone passed the marker.

  26. Guardian Gate – Climb up and over ladder climb. Use of support straps is prohibited.

  27. Walk the Plank – Run up and over the teeter totter. **Elites must restart if they fall off the obstacle.

  28. Towers – Climb up the tower, ring the bell and climb down.

  29. Water Under Your Kilt – Traverse the creek.

  30. Kraken Crawl – eliminated

  31. Celtic Climb  - Climb the rope up the hill side.

  32. The King’s Throne – Pull yourself up to the platform, climb up and over the ladder back. **Elites may not use the side supports to climb.

  33. Strong As Oak Wall – Climb over the 8’ wall. Elites may not use the side supports.

  34. Black Watch – Climb the pipes using the rope handles to the top, ring the bell. ** Elites may receive no assistance on this obstacle.

  35. The Black Hole – Climb through the tube, first come first choice.

 

***OPEN HEAT RACERS DO NOT HAVE TO COMPLETE ANY OBSTACLE THEY DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING, EACH OBSTACLE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK, PLEASE GIVE YOUR BEST EFFORT AND NO SHAME IN LIVING TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY.
